🔗 Share this article Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients. The Grave Charges Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.” The Police Inquiry The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Offences Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with: 15 counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
