England versus China – Female Exhibition Match

Overview

Greetings and welcome to the non-competitive match between England and China at the iconic Wembley. This promises to be an exciting contest with the reigning European champions facing the holders of the Asian Cup title.

The home of English football is sold-out for the event, which will see Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her retirement from the national team before the Euros this past summer.

Lineup details will be announced shortly, but there was a recent squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so former number one Ellie Roebuck has been called up.

With Hannah Hampton injured, it will be notable to find out who the Lionesses' coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. This information and additional developments are incoming before the start of the match at 5.30pm GMT.

Team News

Squad details are now available. Anna Moorhouse starts in goal for England in the absence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

England: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Substitutes: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

Details are being sought for the Chinese lineup now; when it comes through, I will provide the update.
